One in four adults over 65 falls each year. Families searching for balance therapy for seniors in NJ usually call after a first fall or a near miss — but the training works best before that.
What we test
- Timed Up and Go, and gait speed
- Single-leg stance and reaction to being nudged off balance
- Leg strength, especially sit-to-stand power
- Vision, inner ear function and medication review
What actually reduces falls
The research is clear: challenging balance training plus progressive leg strengthening, performed at least twice a week for several months. Walking alone is healthy, but it does not train balance recovery.
What sessions look like
Standing on varied surfaces, head turns while walking, step and reach tasks, stair work, and practicing getting up from the floor safely — all with a therapist next to you.
Home matters too
Lighting, rugs, stair rails and footwear. We go through the checklist with you and with family members.
Both clinics offer balance programs. Call us to arrange an assessment.
