I’m the owner!!
Alex Brito
Alex Brito PT, DPT, is the owner of Springfield Physical Therapy & Wellness, bringing his extensive knowledge, skill, and passion for therapy to every patient. Alex has spent more than six years honing his craft and building a practice that reflects his unique vision – to offer a practice driven by superior personalized one-on-one care and an unparalleled therapeutic relationship. Alex’s professional calling started with his experience as a soccer player on various teams where he discovered the profound impact Physical Therapy could have on one’s life. The rest, as they say, is history. Upon graduating from Touro College, he immediately began his career by working at the Universal Institute of Rehab, specializing in traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury. From there, he went on to work for and manage three out-patient clinics specializing in post-op rehab, sports rehab, orthopedics, etc. Alex is driven by his desire to solve problems and continuously expand his professional knowledge. He is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association, Springfield Chamber of Commerce, and Sport Club Portuguese in Newark. Alex also runs a blood drive in his office with the American Red Cross Association every August. Alex grew up in Hillside, graduating top of his class in high school. He completed his Bachelor’s of biology at NJIT with Cum Laude, was in the Albert Dormans honors college, and was on the Men’s Division I soccer team. He completed his studies at Touro College in New York, where he acquired his Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) and a Bachelor’s in health science and was awarded the highest clinical achievement award.
Alex is currently married to Grace, and they have three beautiful daughters together. Alex is an avid soccer player, spending his weekends on the field. These activities serve as a great source of entertainment and firsthand knowledge of the injuries he treats every day in his practice.
I’m the head physical therapist!!
Glenn Forsyth, DPT, NMSK-DN, OCS
Dr. Glenn Forsyth PT, DPT is the head physical therapist at Springfield Physical Therapy and Wellness. Glenn recognized his passion and fascination with human movement and performance growing up as a wrestler and avid gym-goer, while truly appreciating the specific protocols and programming it took to achieve desirable results. He utilized this personal interest in pushing the human body to different limits to steer his educational pursuits.
Glenn received his Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition and Food Sciences from New York University and his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rutgers School of Health Professions. Glenn gained experience directly out of school from treating a myriad of orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to post-operative, fractures, strains and sprains, chronic pain, and joint instability, in an outpatient setting prior to arriving at SPTW.
He brings a holistic approach to each patient he treats, stemming from his multifaceted education and experience with nutrition, personal training, stress and lifestyle management, and of course orthopedic physical therapy. Glenn additionally believes that physical therapy continues well beyond relieving pain symptoms and should be used to bridge the gap for return to higher-level activities of daily living and/or specific sports performance. This may involve a transition from muscular re-education in foundational positions and lower-level corrective exercises to performing larger, compound exercises and higher level sport specific movements all within the same plan of care! He has recently completed an extensive course in dry-needling and passed his OCS exam which extends his already impress resume and specialty.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Glenn is a teacher’s assistant for several first-year PT courses at his alma mater Rutgers, consults with club wrestling teams and injury risk management and strength/conditioning programming, and conducts personal training sessions for individual clientele. In his spare time, Glenn enjoys staying physically active and hiking with friends, visiting the shore all-year round with his wife, and constantly questioning his allegiance to the New York Football Giants.
Glenn is looking forward to continuing to grow and learn as a clinician at SPTW while helping as many patients as he can return to an optimal, pain-free life! He has recently celebrated being married and looks forward to growing his family.
I’m a staff physical therapist!!
Emily Rodrigues, PT, DPT
Dr. Emily Rodrigues PT, DPT is our newest addition to the SPTW team! Emily was inspired to enter the world of healthcare after viewing her late Grandmother struggle with functional mobility throughout the majority of her life. She quickly learned that Physical Therapy is the greatest career in healthcare due to its all-encompassing approach to the human body rooted in natural, restorative, & strength-based recovery.
Emily received her Bachelor’s of Science in Biology at Saint Joseph’s University in West Philadelphia, where she was apart of the SJU Cheerleading Squad traveling alongside the Men’s & Women’s D1 Basketball teams for the A10’s conference. Gaining a greater appreciation for the body’s demands of athleticism, she quickly decided that pursuing a Doctorate of Physical Therapy would be her ideal post-grad career plan. Taking a gap year in between, she volunteered/worked at various clinics in NJ & Philadelphia, including the renowned Vincera Institute who specialize in treating high level athletes like the Philadelphia Flyers. Emily received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Rutgers University in Newark, NJ.
Emily is driven to take an individualistic treatment approach for each patient she meets, with an emphasis in identifying and correcting neuromuscular imbalances. Her experience with Cheerleading has fortified in her a greater appreciation for the impact a sport can have on the (female) body, thus dedicating more focus to core/pelvic stability, postural restoration, and overall neuromuscular balance to lower the risk of injury. Emily is excited to start taking continuing education courses to broaden her expertise in the realm of Physical Therapy!
Outside of the clinic, Emily enjoys working soccer games as the on-site PT gaining experience with players spanning up to the Semi-professional level. In her spare time, she diligently focuses on her own fitness, including strength training and Zumba classes. She loves to read, dance, makes the most of weekends with her best friends, and looks forward to visiting Portugal each year to see family & strengthen her roots (Força Benfica)!
I’m the receptionist!!
